Love Paper Lanterns

Happy New Year Friends! The Splitcoast Stampers color challenge was to create a card using Black and Gold. I thought I would try something new this week and gave the Technique lovers challenge a try, which was the Paper Lanterns technique, so I thought I would try something new! What fun!

You can see the directions on how to create the Paper Lantern technique Here.

Art Neko has so many cool papers, you can see them all HERE.I thought it would be cool to create the lanterns out of two of these papers. They are very thin, so I used a Spellbinders oval and adhered the Gold Butterflies on a Field of White and the Shiny Gold Sakura Blossoms and Leaves on Ivory paper onto the white ovals I cut out. I then followed the instructions on the technique using my Scor-pal and Bone folder. I adhered the lanterns onto the shimmery black cardstock. Using Versamark, I stamped the Roses Sheet 1, Taylored Stamps by Art Neko and then embossed with Gold Embossing powder and the Heat Tool to set it. I added some Gold Sequins to embellish the card. To hang the Paper Lanterns, I drew a line using a Gold Zig Pen.

I hope you enjoyed my project today! Thanks so much for stopping by!
